Ulster Wildlife visit Primary 6
Michael Crothers visited our Primary 6 children to raise awareness of the effects of pollution on our wildlife.
Primary 6 are currently studying the topic of “Recycle – It” for World Around Us and as part of our Eco Schools Programme, Patrick Crothers from Ulster Wildlife came in to speak to the Primary 6 pupils about Recycling and Litter.
He explained to us the importance of Recycling and what happens to our rubbish when we send it to a Recycling centre. Patrick also discussed the dangers of littering to animals and Marine life.
We learnt some interesting facts – Did you know that it takes 650+ years for a polystyrene cup to decompose??
Mrs McNeill and the Eco Council have litter picks planned for the New Year to help make our school grounds more environmentally friendly.
