On Thursday 6th March our P.7 pupils had the opportunity to take part in the Bee Safe Event. This was organised by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council and took place in the Burren Community Hub. Dermot and Neil from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue talked to the pupils about fire safety in the home, water safety and the dangers of wildfires. The children loved the Who Wants to be a Millionaire Quiz although, unfortunately, it wasn’t real money! Alannah from NMDDC spoke to the pupils about mental well-being and how to look after their mental health. Caitlin from NMDDC reminded the pupils about online safety. Ethnie from Mourne Food Adventures taught the pupils about the importance of healthy eating. They loved tasting some of the healthy foods. The pupils visited the Education Bus where Kevin and Chris from Translink discussed the importance of safety at bus stops and when travelling by bus. Our pupils learned so much and had a great morning!
