P1 Visit the Fire Station
On Friday 17th January, Primary 1 visited the local Fire Station as part of our topic 'People Who Help Us.' We set off with our coats and scarves on and walked through the town to the Fire Station. When we got there we met lots of Firemen who were all dressed in their special uniform. One of the Firemen read us a story called 'Frances Firefly' which taught us all about Fire Safety. We each got to sit inside the Fire Engine and some of us got to try on the helmets which were very heavy! We then went outside were we got to use the Firemen's hose - it was so much fun! We had such a good time at the Fire Station. When we were leaving we could hear the sirens! On our way back to school we stopped and got our photos taken with other 'people who help us' including our local Pharmacist Mr Walsh and Lee's Opticians. We had a lovely morning out of school. Thank you to Warrenpoint Fire Station for giving us such a lovely experience.
