We did an experiment on drying out an apple using salt, salt and baked soda and air to see which method preserved the apple the best, the ancient Egyptians used this process of drying out in the mummification process. We observed the changed over two weeks and recorded our observations. We all agreed that salt was the best preservative and the Egyptians were quite right in their methods!
