Liturgical Year

As an integral part of our Catholic ethos, all pupils are made aware, throughout the school year, of the changes and celebrations relating to the Church's Liturgical Year. These events are highlighted on the notice board on the main corridor.

To further complement the work of the class teacher in the delivery of the 'Alive O ' series from Primary 1 - Primary 7, the children enjoy weekly school assemblies:

Primary 1: Friday morning
Primary 2 & 3: Thursday morning
Primary 4 & 5: Wednesday morning
Primary 6 & 7: Tuesday morning

These assemblies are often pupil led and are further complemented by the pupils' prayer service to which parents, families, friends and our school Chaplain are invited to attend. These are usually as follows:

Primary 1: St. Patrick's Day
Primary 2: Feast of St. Brigid
Primary 3: Advent - Nativity
Primary 4: May - the month of Our Lady
Primary 5: November - the Holy Souls
Primary 6: - October - the month of the Rosary
Primary 7: Confirmation - the Holy Spirit

Our school Chaplain makes frequent visits to the classes in preparation for the sacraments of First Confession and First Communion in P4 and Confirmation in P7.

The older pupils plan and participate in their own class prayer services or class Masses and invite parents to attend.

Throughout the school year, working in close partnership with our Parish, the pupils participate in the parish based 'Do This in Memory of Me' Programme and the older pupils read at the 10.00 am Children's Mass during October and March.

November: A time to remember our loved ones who have died
May: The month of Our Lady and the Rosary
June: A month dedicated to The Sacred Heart
Confirmation: I Have Called You By Your Name
